GENERAL MANAGER
Nicolette is a 'born and bred' Mackay local having attended both primary and secondary school in the region.
Nicolette commenced with The Neighbourhood Hub in January 2016 With a diverse professional background, Nicolette is passionate about creating positive change within communities, leveraging her legal expertise, project management skills, and community development experience.
Nicolette specialises in creating sustainable solutions that align with community needs and drive long-term growth and is driven by the opportunity to work with diverse stakeholders, build meaningful partnerships, and create programs that have a lasting, positive impact.

Alex
SENIOR PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Alex has been part of the Hub team since 2017 and brings experience from early childhood, mental health, and employment services. With a strong commitment to social justice and community-led support, she understands both the challenges and strengths within families and local communities.
In her role as Senior Program Coordinator, Alex supports the day-to-day delivery of a variety programs at the Hub. She works closely with staff, local partners, and community members to ensure services are safe, inclusive, and responsive to community needs.
Her work includes service planning, staff development, assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and supporting quality and compliance. Alex values connection, collaboration, and the power of Neighbourhood Centres to support communities!

Wasinee
OPERATIONS & FINANCE COORDINATOR
Wasinee joins us from Thailand – The Land of Smiles – bringing warmth, dedication, and a genuine passion for community service that has made her an invaluable member of our team.
Her journey with The Neighbourhood Hub began in 2019 as a volunteer, where she quickly demonstrated her commitment to our mission and her natural ability to connect with both staff and community members. Recognising her potential and dedication, Wasinee transitioned to Administration Officer.
In her role as Operations and Finance Coordinator, Wasinee ensures our financial operations are managed with precision and accountability, providing the solid foundation that supports our vital community programs. Her meticulous attention to detail, combined with her deep understanding of our organisation's values and goals, enables us to maintain fiscal responsibility while maximising our impact in the community.

Zoe relocated to Mackay from NSW in 2024, bringing extensive experience in community engagement and program coordination across diverse service settings.
With a strong background in developing and implementing community-led initiatives, Zoe is passionate about reducing social isolation and creating pathways for empowerment. Her expertise in policy development and program design ensures The Neighbourhood Hub's services remain responsive, inclusive, and aligned with best practice standards.

SENIOR ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
Nat moved to Mackay from Brisbane in 2016 and joined The Neighbourhood Hub Team in early 2024. With a background in Business Administration across the mining and education sectors, Nat brings valuable organisational and administrative expertise to the team. Having volunteered with local community organisations for the past 7 years, Nat is passionate about supporting children, families, and the broader Mackay community. Her combination of professional skills and community experience strengthens the Hub's capacity to deliver quality, accessible services.

Brooklyn
ADMINISTRATION & PROJECTS OFFICER
Brooklyn started at The Neighbourhood Hub in 2019 as a School Based Trainee and became an Administration Officer in 2020. With years of experience supporting community members, Brooklyn is skilled at identifying individual needs and connecting people with appropriate services and support. She is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming environment where everyone who walks through the doors feels heard and supported. Brooklyn's ability to navigate complex service systems and build rapport with diverse community members ensures people receive timely, relevant assistance tailored to their circumstances.

ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
Nana moved to Australia from Thailand in 2008. While studying Business Administration and raising a young family, she worked in the hospitality industry for 10 years, developing strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Nana began volunteering at The Neighbourhood Hub in 2022, where her warm nature and genuine care for others quickly became evident. She transitioned to her role as Administration Officer, where she now combines her administrative expertise and customer service background to create welcoming, culturally sensitive support for all who seek assistance. Nana's multilingual abilities and understanding of the migrant experience make her an invaluable bridge between the Hub and diverse community members.

ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
Yasmin joined the team in 2025, bringing strong administrative and customer service skills to her role. She has a natural talent for fostering inclusive spaces where people feel respected, listened to, and genuinely supported.
Yasmin's warm approach and attention to detail ensure smooth operations and a welcoming experience for all who connect with The Neighbourhood Hub. Beyond work, Yasmin is deeply devoted to her family and enjoys cooking. She finds joy in bringing people together through the warmth of a home-cooked meal and the simple pleasure of shared laughter around the table.

COMMUNITY CONNECT WORKER
CJ brings extensive experience in community support and family services to her role as Community Connect Worker. With a genuine passion for empowering individuals and families, CJ specialises in building trusted relationships and creating pathways to practical support. She is skilled at working collaboratively with local organisations and service providers to ensure people receive coordinated, wraparound care. CJ's strengths-based approach focuses on recognising each person's capabilities and helping them build on existing resources to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

EMERGENCY RELIEF PROGRAM COORDINATOR & VOLUNTEER HUB COORDINATOR
Julie has worked in the community services sector for 9 years and joined the team in 2024.
Julie has experience in community outreach, emergency relief, community education, family support, fundraising, organizing events and overseeing local community and corporate donations. Julie is very passionate about helping vulnerable families in Mackay and wants to make a positive impact in the local Mackay community.

Toni-Marie
MACKAY REGIONAL FINANCIAL WELLBEING COORDINATOR
Toni-Marie has a passion for adventure and physical activity and is known for her drive to regularly explore and participate in new experiences. Toni-Marie has a diverse background in Community Service since joining The Neighbourhood Hub team in 2018, which has led to her taking the leap into commencing a Bachelor's degree in Social Work.

Tracey
FINANCIAL WELLBEING OFFICER
Tracey is a migrant originally from bonnie Scotland, emigrated to South Africa where she worked in the coal mining industry for many years. Since emigrating to Australia Tracey has completed a Bachelor's Degree in Business and a Graduate Certificate in Human Services and started at The Neighbourhood Hub in 2017 as a student placement and volunteer and in 2019 became the Financial Wellbeing Officer. Tracey has also worked in the Multicultural Programs within the organisation and is passionate about financial literacy and social justice.

INTEGRATED FAMILY SUPPORT HUB PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Toni joined the Neighbourhood Hub Team in 2012. During this time, Toni has worked across a number of programs within the orgnsiation, all with a focus on supporting children and families with a special interest in child development and child focused actvities. Toni is passionate about Child Protection and supporting child and parent/carer wellbeing.

Chloe is a Mackay local with a background in early childhood education and care. Chloe has a special interest in all things children and families and enjoys providing families and children with engaging activities, information and connecting them to services that they may need.

EARLY CONNECTIONS HUB PROGRAM WORKER
After over 10 years in Mackay, Sophie is proud to call herself a local and brings a diverse background in public relations, community development, media relations, and strategic communications to the team. Sophie is skilled at connecting with people from all walks of life and is deeply passionate about child safety, working to ensure children grow up in secure, loving environments while empowering parents in their roles. Outside of work, Sophie enjoys cooking and spending time with her children and husband. She is currently completing her Master's Degree in Social Work.

TARGETED FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM - CASE MANAGER
Lucy joined The Neighbourhood Hub in 2024 after moving from interstate. Lucy is bringing with her experience working in youth residential care and case management of young people in the out of home care system which involved holistically supporting individuals with complex needs. Lucy has a passion for supporting vulnerable people to to feel empowered to achieve their goals.

Michelle joined The Neighbourhood Hub in 2023. Her love of people, social engagement and connection is her driving passion. Michelle joins TNHub with experience in community development and engagement, endorsing mental health and well-being and is an advocate for education and awareness in suicide prevention.

Tanya commenced with The Neighbourhood Hub in 2023 as the Targeted Family Support Case Manager, with a background in supporting Mackay families through empathy and a solutions-focused approach.

FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM WORKER
Amy brings over 10 years of experience in the family support sector, working alongside families and young people to help them achieve their goals. With a person-centered, strengths-based approach, Amy is skilled at building trust and developing practical support plans that address individual family needs. She values collaboration and believes in walking alongside families during challenging times, celebrating their successes, and building their resilience. Outside of work, Amy enjoys reading and supporting her children in their sporting adventures, bringing the same enthusiasm and encouragement to her professional role.

PROGRAM SUPPORT WORKER
Michelle joined The Neighbourhood Hub in November 2024 as a Program Support Worker in the Family Support and Early Years Connection Hub Programs, after volunteering for four months in the Targeted Family Support Program. Her time as a volunteer demonstrated her natural ability to connect with families and her commitment to the Hub's mission.
Michelle brings empathy, practical support skills, and a solutions-focused approach to her role. She is passionate about walking alongside families during challenging times, helping them identify strengths, overcome obstacles, and build stronger, more resilient futures for themselves and their children.

Ela
MULTICULTURAL PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Kumusta?' is a popular greeting in The Philippines where Ela hails from. Ela started as a volunteer at The Neighbourhood Hub in 2017 before moving into the Administration position while also working as a Support Worker for the Intergrated Family Support Program at The Hub. Over the years Ela has taken part in other programs and is the current Program Coordinator for the Multicultural Community Programs. Ela is passionate about kids and working with Multicultural families being a migrant herself.

MIGRANT SETTLEMENT PROGRAM WORKER
Lyla commenced with The Neighbourhood Hub in 2023 coordinating the Migrant Settlement Program. Lyla is originally from China but has lived and worked in Queensland for several years. Having gone through the migration process and making Mackay her home Lyla knows how important having a support network is for new migrants. She is able to help new migrants to Mackay find their network and live and thrive in their new home.

FACILITIES OFFICER
Mercy arrived in Australia from the Philippines in 2016. Her journey in Australia reflects her dedication to making a positive impact in her community.
In 2021, Mercy began her career as a disability support worker, providing care and assistance to those in need. In 2023, she extended her contributions by volunteering at The Neighbourhood Hub, where she fostered connections and supported community initiatives. In 2024, Mercy transitioned into her role as Facilities Officer, ensuring our spaces remain welcoming, safe, and well-maintained for all community members. Mercy takes pride in her work and the positive contribution she makes every day.

MAINTENANCE OFFICER
Wayne initially started volunteering with The Neighbourhood Hub before transitioning into the role of Maintenance Officer. With a passion for the outdoors and gardening, Wayne brings dedication and meticulous attention to detail to every task. His commitment to maintaining safe, functional, and welcoming facilities ensures both Centres provide the highest quality environment for staff and community members alike. Wayne's hands-on approach and proactive maintenance keeps our spaces operating smoothly year-round.
